Ang Dawa Sherpa, a Guinness World Record holder, has reached the summit of Mount Everest 10 times. On May 14, 2019, he and his wife, Pasang Phuti Sherpa, set the record for the fastest couple to summit Everest, completing the ascent in just 2 days, 7 hours, and 36 minutes. With over 21 years of experience in mountaineering, he is a certified International Mountain Guide (NNMGA/UIAGM/IFMGA) and has been guiding expeditions since 2003.
Ang Dawa’s first successful ascent of Mount Everest was in 2007 via the Northside. Since then, he has climbed many major peaks, including Everest (8,848m) 10 times, Manaslu (8,163m) twice, Cho Oyu (8,201m), Gyachung Khang (7,075m), and Ama Dablam (6,812m) six times, along with numerous trekking peaks.
He has led numerous successful high-altitude expeditions and also served as a liaison officer and trip leader. In recognition of his contributions to the mountaineering industry, the Nepal Tourism Board awarded him the prestigious “Tenzing Hillary Award” in 2019.
